to straya!

the day after i handed in my uni project, my friend bec + i packed our bags + jumped on a flight to melbourne – a city we’d both wanted to visit for ages. it was bec’s first time to australia too!

it was the week new zealand got hit by storms + flooding, so we were more than stoked by the sunshine + blue skies that greeted us. it did happen to be the coldest melbourne had been all winter, but i’d take cold mornings + blue skies over rain, for sure! we spent the majority of our days wandering around the city, exploring alleyways, admiring street art + searching out the best coffee spots. we also designated our trip as a five day technology-free holiday, so we took only film cameras, no phones, no internet. i found myself experiencing the city in a different, less distracted, way. and i’ve found that i’ve got lots of memories despite not having hundreds of photos to prove it, like i perhaps would usually with my digital slr.. quite a nice way of doing it i reckon.

i’ve begun scanning some of my films… here are a few so far, more to come
