karekare.

we took a trip to karekare falls a couple weeks back, + i can’t believe it’d taken me so long to discover this gem. holy cow, it’s so beautiful there. i want to go back + swim in the summertime. i took my german friend Samira + Bec came along too. we spent the afternoon climbing, exploring, getting muddy + breathing in some good old fashioned fresh air. we caught the last ten minutes of daylight as we walked along karekare beach, + we had it all to ourselves too! when it’s only half an hour out there from my house it makes me wonder why i don’t get out more often… i love new zealand.

all of the following images were shot on my little golden half film camera. you can see more pictures from that camera here, when i went to paris.

the falls... clear blue water, the smell of damp, native trees.
